The Here and Now Hotel
What is it about a hotel room?
Not only do I feel light, free and can think with much more clarity, but suddenly I feel more radiantly beautiful, decisive and simply fun.
Sounds almost like being in love!
And it’s not the luxury of being in the company of sofas and coffee makers I wish I owned, to the contrary; material objects don’t seem as important as they are at home, they take their rightful secondary place. Even my carefully “curated” small suitcase worth of journey companions seem trivial, if not at all unnecessary.
Nothing is my responsibility, the routine is not there yet, so I am seemly hanging in space and time, with some appointments, sure, but fundamentally nowhere to get to.
Bizarrely, there’s finally space for what matters.
Is it that I give myself permission to relax?
To have a fresh start, even if for one day?
No wonder writers use a hotel room as a hideaway retreat.
What an unexpected way to arrive at this zen destination.
Being here and now.
